Use the debugger.

You should use the debugger and step though the code, so you see where you get it. When you find the line of code where it happens, you can solve it.
The most probable cause for the error is that a field contains an error, which is a different data type. This will cause this exact error message. But unless you use the debugger, you will not know what field contains the error.
